Their story

Nasser, a primary-school teacher from Gaza City, has kept teaching through every month of the war — first in a shelter, now in a classroom with a tarpaulin roof. The family of eight, including his parents and a newborn grandson, pools everything into food. Eggs and chicken have become luxuries; formula for the baby comes from the black market.
